After nearly two years off the air, hit Western series Yellowstone is finally returning for the second half of its fifth season.

Unfortunately, the episodes won't feature one key character: Kevin Costner's John Dutton.

Costner revealed earlier this year that he had left Yellowstone for good, and that he would instead be focusing on his Horizon series of films.

A sixth season has yet to be confirmed, but one of the show's longest-serving cast members recently said season 5 will end with a cliffhanger.

Potential spin-offs that could continue the characters' journeys have also been floated - with star Gil Birmingham hoping for one focused on his character Thomas Rainwater, along with Moses Brings Plenty's Mo.

Season 5 part 2 premiered in the US on Sunday (10th November) on Paramount Network, but when will viewers be able to watch it in the UK? Read on for everything you need to know.

Yellowstone has previously aired on the Paramount Network and My5, but you can now catch up on the show on the new Paramount Plus streaming service, which launched on Wednesday 22nd June 2022 in the UK.

The first four seasons of Yellowstone are available on the platform, as well as the first half of season 5.

The second part of season 5 is airing weekly on the platform every Monday morning from 11th November. The service costs £6.99 per month or £69.90 per year in the UK.

Potential Paramount Plus subscribers in the UK and Ireland can also take up a free seven-day trial before committing to a paid membership.

Existing Sky Cinema customers on Sky platforms can enjoy Paramount Plus at no additional cost, which is a huge incentive to sign up if you haven’t already.

Yellowstone prequel series 1883, which stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sam Elliott, with the former two playing Costner's character John Dutton's ancestors, debuted in the US in December last year, and we have some good news for UK fans.

As with the first three seasons of Yellowstone, the first season of 1883 has landed on Paramount Plus following its launch in the UK. That means all 10 episodes are available on the streamer.

Meanwhile, follow-up series 1883: The Bass Reeves Story stars David Oyelowo as the title character, "a legendary lawman of the Wild West", and is also on Paramount Plus.

Where to watch 1923 in the UK

By far the starriest spin-off of them all, 1923 stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, in a story which introduces "a new generation of the Dutton family and explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home".

Ford told Vanity Fair that his character is "the silverback", adding: "He’s responsible for that branch of the family. These are two people with a very strong bond to each other who are facing really complicated circumstances."

Meanwhile, Mirren revealed that her character speaks with an Irish accent rather than an American one, explaining: "I see Cara as an immigrant. One of the things I very strongly wanted was that she would speak with an Irish accent, not with an American accent.

"It’s always slightly annoyed me with Westerns that you have all these people speaking with modern American accents when in fact so many of them were fairly recent immigrants."

It debuted in the US on Sunday 18th December 2022, while in the UK the series debuted on Paramount Plus on Monday 19th December 2022.

Can I watch 6666 in the UK?

6666 was announced in early 2021, as a present-day Yellowstone spin-off that will focus on the Four Sixes ranch in West Texas.

No official cast has been announced for the series yet, so we may be a way off from seeing it either in the US or here in the UK.

However, we do have this explainer for the series, as released by Paramount Plus: "Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666.

"Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 has inspired a new scripted series where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing.

"The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavour to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made."

While originally announced for Paramount Plus in the US, the series has subsequently been moved to the Paramount Network, so exactly which platform it will land on in the UK remains to be seen.

Yellowstone is available to stream on Paramount Plus. Get a seven day free Paramount Plus trial at Amazon Prime Video.
